With luck, maybe MS will add CalDav (and the one for contacts which I am not remembering at the moment) to Outlook for Mac and save us weary Mac users. and just forget about syncing your calendar. Tick the items you could sync, then choose Sync Contacts with. Navigate the Device entry and choose the icon for your device. Connect your iPhone to the computer through USB and Open iTunes. Note: Disable iCloud first to initiate the process. After you turn on Sync Services, you can use iTunes to sync iCal with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. Sync Outlook Contacts to iPhone using via iTunes. However, with OS X Snow Leopard or an earlier version of the operating system, you can turn on Sync Services, and then try syncing your Outlook calendar. If not, then periodically export all your contacts to the Mac Contacts app and sync that. The calendar in Outlook for Mac doesn’t sync with any of your iOS devices. IF you have an IT person who can set you up with MS Exchange, go for it and bask in the glory of being able to sync.

I am a 365 subscriber, so I signed up for a trial to update my subscription to the Busines version, went through the hassle to ge Exchange set up, spent a few days fiddling with it and maybe 2 hours on the phone with MS support and was utterly amazed at how poor the support was. From the right panel, check the 'Sync Contacts With' and choose 'Outlook' from the options. Under the Settings section, click on 'Info.' Step 5. From the left panel of iTunes, click on your device icon. Before starting this method, make sure that iCloud is disabled. iTunes will automatically detect your iPhone. It facilitates offline working in an Exchange environment. Until Microsoft adds support for CalDav (and the one for contacts which I am not remembering at the moment), you will only be able to sync if you use MS Exchange. Outlook for Mac provides Exchange connectivity in a Mac environment.
